What we collect
When you submit a Sell Your Tech, Business & Bulk or Contact enquiry, The Recycle Project collects the contact details, device information, messages and any photographs or inventory files you provide. We use this information to assess your equipment, prepare and discuss an offer, respond to your enquiry, arrange an approved purchase and keep necessary business records.
Please do not include passwords, identity documents or unrelated personal information in photographs or attachments.
Where your information goes
Your enquiry and attachments are sent to our business Outlook inbox and are also held in our private staff enquiry workspace. Access to the workspace is limited to authorised staff using verified sign-in. Customer records and photographs are not publicly available and are not exposed through shareable website photo links. Authorised staff may download files where needed for handling your enquiry.
Service providers and overseas processing
We use service providers for website hosting, private storage and email delivery, including Lovable Cloud, Resend and Microsoft Outlook. These providers process information to supply those services.
Our website database and private enquiry storage are hosted in Singapore. Notification emails are processed by Resend in the United States. This means your information is stored and processed outside Australia.
We do not sell your enquiry details or photographs, and we do not use them for unrelated marketing without your permission. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.
How long we keep it
We retain active enquiries while they are being handled. Unsuccessful or closed enquiries and associated files in our private workspace are scheduled for deletion 12 months after their last recorded activity, unless they are subject to a legal retention requirement. Completed-purchase transaction records are kept for at least five years and longer where required by law. Photographs may be deleted earlier when no longer reasonably needed, unless a legal hold applies.
Deleting a record from the website workspace does not automatically delete copies in our Outlook inbox or files already downloaded by authorised staff; those copies are managed under our own retention procedures.
Access, correction and deletion
You can request access to or correction of your information, ask us to delete information we no longer need, or raise a privacy concern by emailing therecycleproject2023@outlook.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We may retain information where necessary to meet legal obligations, complete an existing transaction or resolve a dispute.
